Skin Treatments and Fillers

Non-invasive skin tightening solutions for patients in Manhattan & NYC

Have you been thinking about rejuvenating your appearance with a BOTOX® skin treatment in New York City? Dr. Elan B. Singer performs BOTOX® injections amongst a range of effective, non-invasive treatments to reduce the signs of aging and rejuvenate your skin. The youth-restoring possibilities of procedures such as BOTOX®, injectable fillers, fat grafting and chemical peels, are ever expanding. Dr. Singer uses these treatments both alone and in conjunction with surgical procedures to achieve fantastic, natural-looking results for his patients.

Injectable Fillers

Injectable fillers are used to plump thin lips, enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases and wrinkles, or improve the appearance of recessed scars. Restylane®, Voluma®, Juvederm® and Radiesse® are used for this purpose.

Botox

When you visit Dr. Singer for a BOTOX® skin treatment in New York City, he will give you a non-surgical injection to temporarily reduce or remove the wrinkles that concern you. BOTOX® can be used on frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. The toxin blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. BOTOX® can also be used for hyperhydrosis (excess sweating) of the armpits and palm of the hands.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels use a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers. As with other facial rejuvenation procedures, chemical peels can be used as an adjunct to a BOTOX® skin treatment in New York City. Chemical peels are helpful in reducing facial blemishes, wrinkles and uneven skin pigmentation, while BOTOX® temporarily freezes the facial muscles that create wrinkles. Chemical peels use trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and alphahydroxy acids (AHAs).

Fat Grafting

Fat grafting will remove a patient’s own fat and re-implant it where needed. It is typically extracted from body parts like the abdomen, thighs, or buttocks, and injected into another area that requires plumping, such as a patient’s face. When used as a facial filler, fat grafting can improve the creased and sunken areas of the face, and add fullness to the lips and cheeks. Fat grafting is also commonly used in buttocks augmentation, rather than using an implant.

What is Voluma™?

Voluma™ is an injectable hyaluronic acid gel used to add volume to the cheek area. Other dermal fillers can treat wrinkles and lines around the eyes, nose, and mouth, but Voluma, part of the Juvéderm® line, is the first and only filler that is FDA-approved for adding volume to the cheeks.

Its subtle lift to the cheeks helps restore youthful contours and a more youthful profile, and its benefits can last up to two years.

What are the benefits of Voluma?

  • Voluma instantly adds volume to the cheek area, resulting in a subtle lift
  • Voluma helps to rehydrate the skin for a smoother appearance and texture
  • Results last up to two years
  • Quick (24-hour) return to normal activities

Who Is A Candidate For Voluma Dermal Filler Injection?

Anyone over 21 whose face is showing a loss of facial volume that occurs as the body’s hyaluronic acid is depleted is a candidate for treatment with Voluma.

The Voluma Injection Procedure

Dr. Singer will take your medical history to ensure that you’re a good candidate for Voluma treatments. He may take photos and, on the day of your treatment, may mark your face to guide him in placing the injections.

After making the first injection into your cheek, Dr. Singer will wait a few seconds to allow lidocaine in the Voluma gel to numb the area. He may also apply a topical anesthetic.

Once your injection site is numbed, Dr. Singer will inject additional Voluma gel in small amounts over the treatment area. He may apply gentle massage to ensure even distribution of the Voluma gel, and may recommend the use of an ice pack to minimize swelling and reduce discomfort at the injection site/s.

Voluma Injection Recovery

You should be able to return to normal activities with 24 hours of treatment, but remember to minimize any strenuous activities and exercise, and avoid extensive exposure to sunlight or heat, for the first 24 hours following treatment.

Voluma may have a few side effects, but they should all resolve within two to four weeks. The most common side effects are swelling, tenderness, firmness, and small lumps or bumps on the skin. Swelling and discomfort can be reduced with ice packs applied to the treatment area.

Voluma Injection Results

Voluma immediately improvs facial volume, giving a subtle “lift” to your facial features. These benefits can last up to two years.

You may need follow-up injection about a month after initial treatment to achieve your best results.
